Early on I copied sessions from academy accounts because they looked good online, ran them with grassroots kids who had never seen anything like them, and watched training fall apart in the first five minutes. I blamed the players. It was never the players. Every badge I did next handed me another system: a game model, a pressing framework, someone else's philosophy to defend in the comments section. None of it told me when to use what I had learned. It just gave me more of it to carry. Football coaching was never short of information. It is short of judgement, the kind that normally takes years of cold Saturday mornings to earn. That is the problem I spend my time on now: not adding another methodology to the pile, but building the pathway that turns information into judgement faster. AI is the accelerant. It does not coach for you. It compresses the years it takes to know what to apply, and when. I built FootballGPT because I needed it for my own sessions first. The Football Coaching Academy grew into 1,800 coaches doing the same work together. I was assistant manager at Hamilton Academical Women's when we won SWPL 2 in 2024/25, still coaching on Saturdays the whole way through. If you are still collecting methodologies, stop.
